Decorating your scrapbook pages with shrink art

Scrapbooking for beginners

Shrink art can add an abstract or child like feel to your photographs or scrapbook pages.

Shrink plastic is easy to use. You can buy shrink plastic with pre-printed designs, plain paper which you draw or color on, and paper which you can run through your inkjet printer. First, draw or print a design directly onto shrink plastic. Next, punch a small hole into the top of the design. You will use this hole to later attach your design to your scrapbook. Then, cook the design, following the instructions on your packet, until it shrinks.

Shrink plastic is available at your local craft store.

Other ideas:

  • Shrink photos for added decoration (perhaps on the same theme as the main photograph on your page)
  • Make shrink plastic buttons
  • Design shrink plastic charms
  • Search for clipart on the internet which will complement your scrapbook theme
  • Make shrink plastic letters to spell out your title or a name
