Ribbons and lace as embellishments

Scrapbooking for beginners

Ribbons and lace are by far the most common, and most beautiful, border embellishment. The flowing nature of both materials encourages a touch of softness and elegance. Ribbon and lace are especially popular in gift and memory scrapbooks.

Moreover, ribbon is easy to glue and attach. Lace requires a bit more patience. And there are, of course, infinitie varieties of ribbon and lace so that something can be found to suit all themes, designs and color schemes!

  • Gingham ribbons look delightful in baby scrapbooks
  • Bright primary colours are perfect for toddlers
  • Silvers, golds and variations on white ribbons and lace work well for weddings or anniversaries
  • Old fashioned lace with sepia photographs looks old-worldy and pretty
  • You will have many more ideas!

For an interesting change from ribbon and lace, try using jute or raffia.
