Scrapbook Software

Scrapbooking for beginners

Scrapbook software is becoming increasingly popular. It is used mostly to create - or try out - layouts and page designs on your computer, and gives a very different finish to a "real" scrapbook. You choose the digital pictures that you want to put into your scrapbook, and then select from an assortment of other design elements to add to the page. The newest software allows a fantastic 3D effect and even a beginner can achieve some impressive results.

As you can see below, there are numerous scrapbook software offerings on the market now. How do you know which one you should buy? First, make sure that you get the latest version. Scrapbooking software is improving so rapidly that the difference between versions can be enormous.

The main advantage of software is that you dispense with the need to gather a huge "stash" of scrapbooking supplies! Your initial purchase will seem very inexpensive compared to the cost of buying up a good supply of paper, embellishments, stickers and so on. If you wish you can have the pages printed professionally and bound into display books, although this is an expensive option. You can achieve good results with relatively little fuss.

The main disadvantage is of course that the scrapbook pages are not "real" and can not be felt, touched and enjoyed in the same way that a real scrapbook can.
